Applicants should have the following qualifications:

- be a Grade 12 graduate or at least 19 years of age when classes begin.
- have Grade 11 English and Math, with a minimum C Grade, or arrange for a Prior Learning Assessment by contacting the Pacific Horticulture College Director.
- be in good health and physically fit.
- have a genuine interest in and desire for a career in horticulture.
- be prepared to:
- attend and participate regularly in all class and program activities which include plant maintenance duties on some weekends (approximately 7 times throughout the school year).
- achieve a minimum 70% grades in all courses and 80% attendance of all scheduled classes and activities.
- complete all project work assigned.

- Submit all of the required application documentation:
- Application for Admission form [PDF]
- official high school or post-secondary transcripts, or results from a prior learning assessment
- a short letter stating your career objectives and your expectations upon graduation
- a current resume;
- two letters of reference (at least one from a previous employer or supervisor)
- a $20.00 non-refundable application fee.
Incomplete application forms/documentation will be returned.
- Attend an interview either in person or over the telephone, upon invitation.
- If accepted, you are required to sign an enrollment contract. Once that contract is returned along with the $130 registration fee AND THE FIRST TUITION OF $270. your space is reserved in the program.
- Deadline for January Session is November 30, 2010.
If you have not paid the Registration Fee by the deadline you may forfeit your place in that specific intake of students. |
